Join our Heritage Seed Library team for this practical workshop to learn how best to save seed from your own seasonal veg. This online talk will cover:
- Why save seeds?
- Easy crops to get started with.
- Pollination methods.
- Drying and storing techniques.
HSL Seed Officer Lucy Shepherd and Lead Horticulturalist Marcin Salnikow will introduce you to saving seed from easier crops, including planning, growing, seed cleaning, drying and storage methods for a range of vegetable types.
Everything will be based on the methods that have been refined over many years at the Heritage Seed Library. You'll also see firsthand some of the varieties in our heritage seed collection and the stories behind them, and look at the reasons why they are saved.
